Independent IT consultant
I help businesses make the right IT decisions. No jargon, no vendor bias.
First meeting is free and non-binding.
So that technology finally serves the business — not the other way around.
Martin Giertl, IT consultant
I help you define requirements, compare incomparable offers, and decide based on facts. Impartial, pressure-free, vendor-independent.
I assess your IT environment and prepare a clear, prioritised plan. A practical document for management — no IT jargon.
I identify where IT spending can be reduced without losing quality. Licences, cloud, contracts, duplicate tools.
I advise where AI delivers real value and where it is just a marketing buzzword. No hype, no buzzwords.
Independent assessment of a company's technology before an acquisition or investment. Risks, hidden costs, tech debt.
I review a vendor proposal, budget or architecture concept and give you clear, candid feedback. Discreet and fast.
When management and IT are not speaking the same language. I align communication, roles, priorities, and governance.
Four typical situations in which businesses turn to an independent IT consultant.
You have built the company over many years. But now you are not sure whether IT is truly helping as it should — and the decisions ahead are getting bigger.
You oversee the financial and operational side. The IT budget is yours to manage, but justifying it in detail is hard — you lack an independent control point.
You understand technology, but you often feel you cannot connect with management — as if you speak different languages. You need a partner who can translate IT into business.
You are preparing a transaction where technology represents a significant part of the value or risk of the target company. You need an independent technology assessment.
Three steps from first contact to result.
A free meeting — I understand your situation, clarify scope, and we agree on next steps.
I analyse the situation, review relevant documents, and prepare a clear output for management.
You receive the result in a usable format. I remain available for questions and follow-up.
I am not tied to any specific sector. I have experience across manufacturing, logistics, services, energy, retail, and specialised B2B projects. My work is not about industry knowledge — it is about understanding how technology affects your business operations.
My work has the most value where IT is no longer just a support function but a core business process. I typically work with mid-sized companies that want to connect systems and processes, improve efficiency, reduce IT costs, or need an independent view of their vendor relationships.
If you need printer and router management, helpdesk support, or workstation installations — I am not the right fit. My value is strategic: setting up processes, selecting solutions that make business sense, and bridging the gap between management and IT.
Yes, in fluent business English. Most clients are Czech companies, but if you have foreign owners, management, or vendors, I handle communication in English — documents, presentations, and discussions.
The more context you provide, the better I can prepare. Include: who is writing (company, role), a brief description of the problem, how many users are affected, the business impact (time, money, risk), and whether you need an NDA before the first meeting.
Not required, but in most cases I recommend it. An NDA allows sharing of sensitive information, protects both parties, and builds mutual trust. For smaller projects we can start without one, but I only discuss sensitive details after it is signed.
Describe your situation and I will suggest the next step.
